Role Summary:
The company is looking for a dynamic and client-focused
Catering Sales Manager
to manage inbound inquiries, build lasting client relationships, and ensure the flawless execution of events from initial inquiry through post-event feedback. This role bridges the gap between clients and internal teams, ensuring a high standard of service, accuracy in operations, and overall client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
Set annual, quarterly and monthly sales targets for the team and monitor performance regularly.
Analyze competitors' dynamics and identify growth opportunities.
Secure new lines of business across corporate and private segments.
Build partnerships with events' organizers and planners to become vendor of choice.
Lead and mentor the sales team to meet individual and collective KPIs.
Revenue Generation
Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue generation from each event, including upselling additional services and customizing event offerings.
Identify and target new revenue streams through partnerships, collaborations, and leveraging existing client relationships.
Track and analyze sales and event performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for increasing revenue.
Ensure all event-related services (e.g., catering, staffing, rentals, etc.) are priced to meet or exceed margin expectations.
Collaborate with the marketing team to design promotions or packages that attract new clients and boost sales.
Event Execution (End-to-End)
Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to event execution, ensuring smooth transitions between each phase.
Work closely with the Operations team to ensure event logistics, timelines, and requirements are clearly communicated and met.
Ensure all event details (quotations, equipment, staffing, etc.) are accurately documented and communicated to all relevant teams.
Act as the point of contact for any escalated client issues during the event, ensuring prompt resolution to maintain client satisfaction.
Collaborate with the Kitchen, Store, and Bar teams to ensure all event specifications (menu, catering, bar services, etc.) are fulfilled to client expectations.
Payment Collection
Oversee the collection of payments for the Sales team, ensuring timely invoicing and payment follow-up.
Ensure adherence to company policies regarding payment schedules, deposits, and final balances.
Monitor and address any outstanding payments, working directly with clients to resolve payment issues.
Report on payment collection progress to senior leadership, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
Ensure all financial aspects of the event, including additional charges or changes during execution, are captured and invoiced appropriately.
Team Management
Supervise and support Sales Managers in client management, quoting, and event follow-up.
Oversee Sales Coordinators to ensure timely assignment of leads, accurate documentation of function and equipment sheets, and smooth pre-event communication.
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
Coordinate hiring, training, and onboarding of new sales staff.
Client Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with key corporate accounts and high-profile clients.
Represent the company at key client meetings, site visits, and strategic events.
Step in for escalated client issues and ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.
Process Oversight
Ensure the quotation and event booking process is streamlined, accurate, and compliant with margin policies.
Oversee proper assignment of leads and tracking in the client database.
Ensure consistent follow-up and conversion of leads into confirmed events.
Drive process improvements across the sales cycle, from inquiry to post-event feedback.
Responsible for historic, current and future payments collection for the entire Sales team.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Hospitality / Catering or any related field.
10+ years of relevant work experience in Customer Service / Sales / Marketing or any relevant field.
Experience in Hospitality industry / F&B industry will be an added advantage.
Experience in GCC region is mandatory.
Knowledge / Skills / Attributes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
Proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), email, and messaging platforms.
Knowledge of event coordination, catering operations, and basic quotation/Purchase Order processes.
Proactive, dependable, and adaptable with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Professional demeanor with a client-focused mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
