Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of high-quality fresh food items, negotiate favorable terms, resolve supply issues, and evaluate vendor performance to support category objectives.
Demand Planning and Ordering:
Analyze historical sales data, trends, and forecasts to plan stock levels and place timely and accurate orders to ensure product availability, reduce wastage, and maintain optimal stock rotation.
Promotions and Offer Planning: Coordinate
with suppliers and the Purchase Manager to develop and implement competitive promotional offers, special deals, and seasonal campaigns aimed at driving footfall and maximizing category sales and margin.
Category Merchandising and Display: Oversee
in-store merchandising standards for the fresh food sections, ensuring attractive, hygienic, and compliant displays aligned with promotional activity and consumer buying behavior.
Team Supervision and Section Operations: Lead
and coach the fresh food team to ensure effective day-to-day operations, adherence to hygiene and food safety standards, accurate pricing, and consistent customer service delivery across all counters.
Sales Performance and Profitability Monitoring: Track
and analyze sales performance, supplier contribution, gross margins, and shrinkage data to drive improvements in profitability and category growth, making adjustments in coordination with the Commercial and Operations teams.
