Job Description

We are hiring an experienced

Caterpillar (CAT) diesel generator technician

to support inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and overhaul work on CAT generator sets. This role includes both

field response

and at our facility

repair/overhaul

, with a strong focus on uptime, safety, and clear documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair CAT diesel generator sets (engine, alternator, controls, sensors, wiring, fuel system). Perform

major overhauls

and component replacements (injectors, turbo, water pump, starter/alternator, AVR, regulators, breakers, control modules). Conduct preventive maintenance services: oil/filter changes, coolant service, belts/hoses, battery systems, fuel polishing/filters, inspections. Perform

load bank testing

and operational verification after repairs (voltage/frequency stability, alarms, transfer performance where applicable). Troubleshoot generator

control systems

(CAT EMCP series or similar), including alarms, shutdowns, and parameter configuration. Complete job reports: parts used, part numbers, hours worked, test results, and recommendations. Support emergency call-outs and breakdown response, including after-hours coverage. Coordinate parts requirements and ensure repairs meet OEM or equivalent standards. Follow HSE requirements and maintain clean, safe work areas.
Required Qualifications

Minimum

3-5 years

hands-on experience with

CAT diesel generators

(industrial or power generation). Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical + electrical systems. Experience with

overhaul/major repair

work (top-end, bottom-end, alternator/controls troubleshooting). Comfortable reading wiring diagrams, service manuals, and using diagnostic tools. Ability to write clear work reports in

English

. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

CAT training certificates or OEM-equivalent certifications. Experience with EMCP 2/3/4, Cat ET (if applicable), or similar diagnostic platforms. Load bank testing experience. Experience supporting military bases, critical facilities, or 24/7 power environments.
Work Schedule & Conditions

6-day work week typical, with

on-call

requirements depending on operational needs. Work will include both

workshop

repairs and

on-site field

response. Must be able to lift 25 kg, work outdoors, and perform hands-on mechanical work.
