Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience/knowledge
Qualifications and Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Training: Preferably completed negotiations skills and time management training
Knowledge: Has a thorough knowledge of the Property & Casualty industry. Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Job Accountabilities
Maintain the Casualty Underwriting Guidelines that adhere to all corporate and support the strategy and profit goals of the company. Underwrite new and renewal business to promote premium growth within UW authority. Achieve overall production goal in collaboration with the Underwriting Manager. Provide sound underwriting decisions, exhibit flexibility, and price risks to achieve established profit goals for the company. Provide feedback on renewal loss ratios that exceed permissible. Identify poor performing accounts. Work independently to evaluate and analyze submissions, apply underwriting guidelines/business practices and make an underwriting decision. Maintaining broker/client relationships. Generate new business from existing producers and up-sell current accounts. Ensure that all casualty pricing tools are being used correctly and that all casualty quotes, binders and policies are issued in accordance with regulatory and corporate policies. Adhere to underwriting authority & underwriting guidelines reference in the AIG Casualty Intranet site. Ensuring that all underwriting decisions are documented in the underwriting file. Ensure that all underwriting directives and compliance process are followed. Ensure the tracking of all Casualty Accounts of AIG UAE Ensure timely update of eStart and other tracking tools Ensure timely booking of all policies Handling of all process oriented tasks ensuring a smooth process in place Other tasks that may be deemed necessary as per the Casualty requirements.
Communication and Working Relationships
Internal
  • Collaborates with other team members of the Casualty department and peer underwriters within Commercial Lines.
  • Develops strong interpersonal relationships with assigned countries and their employees.
External
To foster positive business relationships with producers and clients.

  • Should have excellent technical knowledge of all liability products and common market wordings
  • Demonstrate good business management skills in planning, organizational ability, decision-making, and priority setting with superior time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, self-manages, organizes and prioritizes work with minimal direction from superiors. Perform multi tasks simultaneous and shift focus quickly.
  • Ability to establish trust and effective working relationships with team, filed offices and producers.
  • Integrity, image, communication skills, interpersonal skills at an established high professional level.
  • Commitment to maintain and develop underwriting skills and technical knowledge.
