Job Title: Cashier
Reports To: Store Manager / Shift Supervisor
Job Overview:
The Cashier is the first and last point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their entire experience. This role is critical for delivering exceptional customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining the front-of-house operations. You are the face of our brand, responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales:

  • Greet every customer promptly, warmly, and with a genuine smile.
  • Guide customers through our menu, offering knowledgeable recommendations on coffee, teas, pastries, and merchandise.
  • Actively suggest add-ons (e.g., a pastry, a flavor shot, a retail bag of beans) to enhance the customer's order.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism, empathy, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting front counter and lobby area.
Transaction Processing & Accuracy:
  • Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system swiftly and accurately to process cash, credit/debit, gift card, and mobile payments.
  • Ensure all transactions are correctly rung up and payment is collected accurately, balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Manage customer loyalty programs, including sign-ups and point redemption.
  • Issue receipts and process refunds or voids according to company policy.
Operational Support:
  • Package and hand off food and beverage items to customers, calling out names or orders clearly.
  • Maintain stock levels at the front counter (lids, sleeves, napkins, straws, utensils, condiments).
  • Keep display cases clean and well-stocked with pastries and retail items.
  • Assist with light cleaning duties, including wiping counters, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, and managing trash.
  • Support baristas and beverage makers during peak times by restocking cups or assisting with order flow.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous cash handling or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and a positive demeanor.
  • Basic math skills and comfort with technology (POS systems, tablets).
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • A team player with a proactive "can-do" attitude.
