To provide excellent customer service by accurately processing transactions, handling payments, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The cashier ensures smooth billing operations and supports overall store efficiency.
2. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Greet customers politely and assist with inquiries.
Provide product information and guide customers when required.
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.
Cash Handling & Billing
Operate cash register, POS system, barcode scanner, and card payment machines efficiently.
Process cash, card, and digital payment transactions accurately.
Issue receipts, refunds, and credit notes as per company policies.
Ensure cash drawer balance at the beginning and end of the shift.
Sales Support
Promote ongoing offers, discounts, and loyalty programs to customers.
Ensure packing of items is neat and secure.
Support sales floor team during rush hours if required.
Documentation & Compliance
Follow cash-handling procedures and anti-theft guidelines.
Maintain proper records of daily sales and cash reports.
Report discrepancies immediately to the supervisor/manager.
Store Maintenance
Keep the checkout counter clean, organized, and presentable.
Ensure packaging materials (bags, tapes, tags) are always available.
Check functioning of POS machines and report issues.
