Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This role involves processing payments, handling cash, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities: * Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries.
- Provide a friendly and efficient checkout experience.
- Address customer concerns or escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Transaction Processing:
- Scan items, process payments (cash, credit, debit, mobile payments), and issue receipts.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policy.
- Maintain accuracy in cash handling and register balancing.
- Sales & Promotions:
- Inform customers about ongoing promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs.
- Upsell or cross-sell products when appropriate.
- Store Maintenance:
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
- Restock bags, receipt paper, and other supplies as needed.
- Assist with light stocking or merchandising tasks if required.
