The Cashier will support the Finance and Accounts Department by accurately handling the schools financial transactions, including payments and invoicing. As the first point of contact for many financial interactions, this role requires a confident, personable, and professional approach, especially when engaging with high-profile international families. The Cashier will ensure smooth daily operations, maintain accurate records, and work seamlessly with the finance team to support the schools financial processes.
Key Accountabilities:

• Receive and receipt school tuition / fee payments and to accurately report this information
• Disbursement of petty cash including reconciliation and balance of petty cash
• Prepare banking deposits as required
• Keep records of fee concessions and all related records pertaining to other school income
• Support with any other day to day operational requirements within accounts team
• Ensure that GEMS policies, procedures and code of conduct are followed at all times

Skills
Person specifications:

• High school certificate with a certificate in accounting though a Bachelors in Accounting or Finance is preferred
• Demonstrable computer data entry skills including report summaries
• Possess at least 1 year of accounting experience
• Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice
• Have a growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focussed
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
