Carpentry Foreman
Job Title: Carpentry Foreman
Department: Construction / Carpentry
Reports To: Project Manager / General Superintendent
Summary:
The Carpentry Foreman leads a crew of carpenters on construction sites, responsible for executing woodworking and framing tasks according to blueprints and specifications. This role combines expert carpentry skills with leadership and planning to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of carpenters and laborers.
• Read and interpret architectural blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Plan and coordinate daily work activities, assigning tasks to crew members.
• Layout and construct wooden structures, including framing, formwork, stairs, walls, and roofs.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment (both power and hand tools).
• Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Monitor and manage on-site inventory of materials and tools.
• Coordinate with other trade foremen (e.g., electrical, plumbing) and project management.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure work is progressing correctly and safely.
• Enforce strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a journeyman carpenter, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools, and building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
