Job Title: Carpenter cum Painter (Maintenance) Job Overview: As a Carpenter cum Painter in the maintenance department, your primary responsibility will be to perform carpentry and painting tasks to ensure the upkeep and aesthetic appeal of various structures within the designated area. This role requires a combination of carpentry and painting skills, as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Carpentry Work: Repair and maintain wooden structures, including doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
Install and replace damaged or worn-out woodwork.
Measure, cut, and shape wood using appropriate tools.
Ensure structural integrity and safety of wooden components. Painting Work: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching holes or cracks.
Select and mix paint colors to match existing surfaces or fulfill specific requests.
Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
Execute decorative painting techniques as required. Maintenance Tasks: Inspect and identify maintenance needs in carpentry and painting areas.
Address routine maintenance issues promptly.
Perform preventive maintenance on wooden surfaces to extend their lifespan.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff to address multifaceted issues. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with tools, equipment, and materials.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in carpentry and painting. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including materials used, work performed, and time spent.
Report any issues or potential problems to the supervisor. Requirements: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a carpenter and painter, preferably in a maintenance setting. Skills: Proficient in carpentry techniques and woodworking tools.
Strong painting skills and knowledge of various painting techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
Attention to detail and precision in both carpentry and painting tasks. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
Stamina to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address maintenance issues efficiently.
