Key Responsibilities
Read and Interpret Designs:
Study blueprints, technical drawings, and sketches to fully understand project requirements and specifications.Measure and Cut Materials:
Precisely measure, mark, cut, and shape wood and other materials using a variety of hand and power tools.Fabricate and Assemble:
Build custom cabinets, shelves, and other wooden items in a workshop or on-site, ensuring all components fit securely.Install Fixtures:
Fit and install base and wall units, countertops, cornices, plinths, and other decorative trim and molding in the client's home.Integrate Appliances and Utilities:
Cut out spaces for sinks, cookers, and other appliances, working around hidden pipes and cables.Finish and Detail:
Perform high-quality finishing work, including sanding, sealing, and installing hardware like handles and hinges.Liaise with Clients and Trades:
Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and other tradespeople (e.g., plumbers, electricians) to ensure the project runs smoothly and meets all code requirements.Maintain Safety and Quality:
Follow all health and safety guidelines and local building codes, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.Job Type: Full-time
