Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Carpentry Work:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements. Construct, install, and repair frameworks, partitions, doors, flooring, ceilings, cabinets, and other wooden fixtures. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials with hand tools and power tools.

Fit-Out & Finishing:

Perform finishing tasks such as sanding, varnishing, painting, and polishing wooden surfaces. Work on customized furniture, decorative woodwork, and interior fit-out projects as per client or design team instructions.

Maintenance & Repairs:

Inspect and assess damages in wooden structures and fixtures; recommend and carry out repairs. Assist in routine maintenance and renovation work for client facilities or company-managed properties.

Collaboration & Coordination:

Coordinate with other trades (electricians, plumbers, painters, etc.) as required on integrated projects. Report progress and any issues to the site supervisor or project manager.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in carpentry is preferred. Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience in carpentry work, preferably within a technical services, construction, or fit-out company. Skilled in the use of carpentry tools and machinery. Ability to read technical drawings and follow instructions accurately. Knowledge of different types of wood and materials and their applications. Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged manual work.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in commercial or high-end residential fit-out projects. Knowledge of basic plumbing or electrical support work is an advantage. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
