Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled

Gypsum and Drywall Carpenter

to join our interior fit-out team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate installation of gypsum board, construction of drywall partitions, false ceilings, and decorative gypsum features. This role demands precision, a keen eye for detail, and strong knowledge of interior finishing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Framing:

Construct and install light gauge steel or timber framing for drywall partitions, wall linings, and various types of

suspended and false ceilings (e.g., Gypsum, Acoustical Tiles).

Gypsum Board Fixing:

Measure, cut, and securely fix gypsum boards to metal or timber frames, ensuring all installations are plumb, square, and aligned with architectural drawings.

Finishing Prep:

Prepare finished surfaces for painting or decoration, including applying joint compound, taping seams, sanding, and ensuring a smooth, seamless finish.

Decorative Features:

Construct and install specialized gypsum elements such as bulkheads, cornices, decorative wall panels, niches, and ceiling designs.

Blueprint Interpretation:

Accurately read and interpret

architectural blueprints, shop drawings, and design specifications

to execute complex interior layouts and details.

Quality & Safety:

Ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of all finished work. Strictly adhere to site safety protocols and company standards.

Material Management:

Calculate and manage material requirements (gypsum board, metal tracks, studs, screws, joint compounds) to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other trades, including electricians and MEP technicians, to ensure proper routing and access for concealed services within the ceiling and partition spaces.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Experience:

Proven experience as a

Gypsum Carpenter, Drywall Installer, or Ceiling Specialist

. Experience in high-end commercial or residential interior fit-out projects is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

Expert knowledge of various types of gypsum board (e.g., standard, moisture-resistant, fire-rated) and suitable framing systems. High proficiency in cutting, shaping, and installing boards, including curved or complex designs. Strong ability to perform taping and jointing (putty work) to achieve a smooth, paint-ready Level 5 finish.

Blueprint Comprehension:

Demonstrated ability to accurately measure from drawings and execute intricate ceiling and wall layouts.

Tools:

Competency in using specialized carpentry and drywall tools, including lasers, levels, routers, and power tools.

Physical Requirements:

Physically fit and able to perform manual labor, including working at heights (scaffolding/ladders) and lifting materials.

Safety:

Valid construction safety certifications are preferred.
