Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of wooden structures, furniture, doors, partitions, and other fixtures within company-managed facilities. Ensures all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general carpentry work such as cutting, shaping, assembling, repairing, and installing wooden structures, doors, furniture, cabinets, and partitions.
Perform repair and maintenance of wooden doors, locks, hinges, door closers, and handles.
Install shelves, skirting, panels, and ceiling frames as required.
Ensure proper fitting, alignment, and finishing of all wooden components.
Assist in measuring, marking, and arranging materials for specific tasks.
Coordinate with other maintenance staff (plumbing, electrical, painting) to support multi-trade maintenance operations.
Inspect and identify damaged or deteriorated woodwork and recommend repair or replacement.
Follow all safety standards and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Support emergency maintenance requests and respond promptly to maintenance calls.
Qualifications and Experience:
Secondary school or equivalent; vocational or technical certificate in Carpentry preferred.
Minimum
3-5 years
of carpentry experience in building maintenance or facility management.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of woodworking tools, machines, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or sketches.
Skilled in measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing wood products.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
