Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Furniture Carpenter to craft custom furniture pieces according to design specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in furniture carpentry, woodwork, and finishing techniques. You will work with a variety of materials, including solid wood, veneers, and MDF, and use both traditional and modern woodworking methods to create durable and aesthetically pleasing pieces of furniture.

Key Responsibilities:

Construct, assemble, and finish custom furniture pieces, including tables, chairs, cabinets, shelving, and other furniture types.

Work with detailed plans and specifications to ensure the accuracy of dimensions, joinery, and finishes.

Cut, shape, sand, and assemble wood, ensuring all parts fit together precisely.

Material Selection & Management:

Select appropriate materials for each project, including wood types, veneers, finishes, and hardware.

Ensure that materials are used efficiently to minimize waste while maintaining high quality.

Master a variety of woodworking techniques, such as dovetail, mortise and tenon, and dowel joinery, to ensure strong, durable joints.

Apply various finishes to furniture pieces, including staining, painting, varnishing, and polishing, to achieve the desired appearance and durability.

Inspect finished furniture pieces for quality, ensuring there are no defects or inconsistencies.

Adjust and refinements as needed to meet the client's specifications.

Work closely with designers, project managers, and other carpenters to ensure furniture pieces meet design requirements and deadlines.

Provide input on material choices, design improvements, and production processes to enhance product quality.

Maintain and operate woodworking tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe, working condition.

Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when working with power tools, hand tools, and machinery.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a furniture carpenter or woodworker, with a portfolio of completed projects is a plus

Expertise in a wide range of carpentry techniques and finishes, including fine joinery, veneering, and polishing.

Proficiency with woodworking tools and machinery (saws, routers, sanders, drills, etc.).

Strong ability to read and interpret design, technical drawings, and specifications.

Solid understanding of wood properties, material handling, and finishes.

Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship, with a focus on high-quality production.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues during the production process.

Pay: QAR1,800.00 - QAR2,200.00 per month
