The Cargo Superintendent oversees vessels loading and discharge operations.
Actively involved in the preparation of stowage, lifting, and lashing plans and always ensure 100% safe operations. To excel in this role.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience
Have at least 15 years of experience in heavy lift operations in offshore / FPSO Oil & Gas field.
Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Assess ships\xe2\x80\x99 cargo lifts, space for steel cargoes, acceptability of cargo for safe shipment and suitability of ships for certain cargo or contracts;
Prepare stowage plans and relevant calculations;
Provide technical background on cargo-related issues;
Provide guidance on cargo hold preparation and cleaning and seamanship\xe2\x80\x99s related topics;
Discuss stowage or cargo related topics with master and owners;
Provide technical information about vessels and advice on cargo handling restrictions and various related issues;
Participate in vessels\xe2\x80\x99 scheduling meetings;
Request stevedoring rates for load and discharge operations;
Physical supervision of stowage and securing of cargo;
Coordination of gang ordering and ships\xe2\x80\x99 working schedules;
Supervise stevedoring work and special-order loading/unloading operations;
Pre-inspect special cargo site;
Act as company representative;
Interface between the office, stevedores, and ships;
Stay informed of developing regulations (national and international) related to cargo handling and carriage;
Communicate knowledge and experience to colleagues including Operations and Chartering;
Responsible for cargo quality issues (damage prevention), stowage planning and monitoring vessel\xe2\x80\x99s performance.
1st Phase in UAE Location: Dubai Drydocks (UAE); Contract duration: 6 weeks; Starting date: ASAP Rotation: N/A Working schedule: 10 hours x 6 days.
