Job Description

Due to continued expansion and growth, Dubai British School Jumeirah Park require a Level 6 qualified Careers Counsellor to support their high-achieving secondary students with their transitions from KS4 and 5 to Higher Education institutions. Immediate start date.

Careers Advisor

The core purpose of the Careers Counsellor is to provide high quality careers guidance through a wide range of experiences that help young people to progress, empower them to plan and manage their own futures and ensure a smooth progression for all students to Higher Education and/or employment. Please refer to the attached for key responsibilities.

Our Curriculum

DBSJP follows the National Curriculum for England, from EYFS through to GCSE, BTEC and A Level examination courses. The curriculum is significantly enhanced by the local context and culture. The opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive, competitive and varied extra-curricular activities programme.


Requirements:


  • Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Advice or other relevant degree qualification
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar setting
  • A commitment to providing high quality careers guidance
  • A track record of enabling a smooth progression for all students to Higher Education and/or employment
  • A willingness to make a broader contribution to school life
  • The drive to continue to develop professionally through a variety of CPD programmes
  • The ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced international, multicultural and demanding environment
