Job Description

A Cardiac Cath Lab Technician operates specialized equipment to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. They collaborate with cardiologists to perform procedures like angiograms and stent placements, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Their role is pivotal in the catheterization laboratory, requiring technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare catheterization lab with necessary sterile equipment and supplies. Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data throughout procedures. Operate imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy and X-ray machines. Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols. Ensure proper documentation of procedures and patient information. Provide patient education and support pre- and post-procedure. Participate in continuous education and training to enhance skills.

Skill & Experience

Proficiency in operating cath lab imaging and monitoring equipment. Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, clinical environments.
