Job Description

The CAMO Engineer is responsible for the technical management of engines within the operator's fleet, ensuring continued airworthiness and regulatory compliance. This includes managing technical data, planning and monitoring engine systems, and ensuring alignment between CAMO, Engine Shops, Flight Operations, and Line Maintenance. The role directly supports aircraft operational reliability and engine health by integrating engineering tasks with shop visit planning, defect management, and live fleet operation and Engine MRO facilities to ensure optimal engine health, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:



CAMO Responsibilities:



Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and Manufacturer Instructions for CFM56 engines. Review and control technical records, ensuring all operational actions are fully documented, traceable, and aligned with regulatory requirements. Monitor and update system programs and tasks per OEM revisions and regulatory changes. Analyze engine condition and defects, support troubleshooting, and define rectification actions using approved data. Validate and authorize work orders (WOs), deferral justifications, and CRS issuance, ensuring compliance with procedures and interface agreements. Communicate findings from analysis & system checks to the Operator and define next actions for defect management or escalation. Participate in reliability programs, identifying trends and recommending corrective/preventive actions.

Engine Shop Responsibilities:



Plan and coordinate engine shop visits with internal and external stakeholders (CAMO, MCC, Engine Shop, MRO providers). Define engine workscopes for shop visits, ensuring alignment with operational demands, cost objectives, and maintenance history. Review and analyze engine teardown reports, component condition reports, and shop findings, and incorporate results into future planning and implementation programs. Monitor engine performance parameters using trend monitoring tools and initiate investigation of abnormal findings. Forecast engine removals, LLP (Life Limited Parts) replacements, and module overhauls, and maintain associated tracking systems. Ensure engine components are installed/removed only under conditions defined in the CAMO-approved documentation and interface procedures (e.g. AMC2 145.A.50(d)). Assess engine event data (e.g. hard landings, bird strikes, lightning strikes) and coordinate required actions with the engine shop and the AMO. Liaise with OEMs and MROs for technical support, repair approvals, and cost-effective component management.
Contribute to the engine health monitoring strategy and optimization of engine time-on-wing.

Qualifications and Experience:



Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a CAMO role, with a focus on CFM56 engines. Excellent technical writing and documentation control. Proven experience with aircraft/engine maintenance planning, reliability, and records management. Working knowledge of EASA Part-M/Part-CAMO, Part-145, and M.A.708 / CAMO.A.315 requirements Hands-on experience with engine shop visit planning, performance analysis, or component evaluation. Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering orders, SB assessments, and modification justifications. Proven experience in managing maintenance programs and ensuring compliance with EASA regulations. Proficiency in using maintenance tracking software. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple project, prioritize tasks identify and address problems, and meet deadlines
