Camel Farm Manager must follow the direction of his / her immediate Supervisor and operates in accordance with the Company Policy.
Responsible for overseeing the daily financial and physical performance and operations of the farm through sustained leadership, management, technical and business skills.
Ensure all relevant company policies are understood and adhered to Feed production management and policies and procedures are in place for commercialization.
Engage with researchers on breeding programs to ensure selection of high standards milk and meat.
Work with the CEO to develop the business plan and annual budget.
Oversee animal health program, maintain the herd with the computerized record keeping for herd health and productivity.
Operate and manage the ET/IVF breeding programs of the Farm.
Oversee Dairy and Livestock production (meat and milk) as per the production plan.
Provide technical advice on issues raised pertaining to livestock, dairy etc.
Oversee and monitor seasonal expenditure in line with the budgeted cash flow.
Source and maintain an international network of Suppliers.
Liaise with key local & international professionals e.g., vet, fertilizer rep, stock agents and contractors to ensure smooth operation of the farm.
Oversee the development, review and management of repairs and maintenance for the farm, its machinery and infrastructure.
Oversee feed budgeting and negotiate feed contracts to achieve production targets.
Oversee the development and implementation of an annual nutrient management plan.
Ensure Dairy and Meat products remain in compliance with all Organic, and State and Federal regulations.
Maintain and monitor the calf raising systems.
Develop and maintain an organic pasture plan for all the animals.
Ensure the farm maintains quality standards.
Active participation in all activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.
Identification and reporting of hazard/danger, accidents, near misses, and property damage at the workplace.
Ensure that health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
Ensure the appropriate training and record keeping is undertaken.
Always ensure proper use of appropriate safety gear / equipment.
Oversee the farm within consent conditions.
Work within best practice environmental guidelines.
Maintain the esthetics and fencing on the farm.
Build a team of professionals and skilled employees.
Supervise and manage all working teams from veterinarians, assistants, and workers in the camel section.
Oversee and plan human resources requirements, monitor labor cost.
Delegate in-house duties and monitor staff performance.
Oversees work tools to ensure that staff have the resources necessary to perform their jobs.
Ensure new staff are inducted and aware of company policies and are given role clarity.
Conduct annual staff performance reviews on direct reports.
Maintain employment records and personal files.
Experience - 12 ? 15 years of experience in managing vet camel farms. - Production experience of meat and milk. Education: Bachelor?s degree in agriculture, animal science, veterinary or equivalent. Job Type: Full-time
