We now have a position for a Production Supply Planner/Buyer to join the team. The role will involve sourcing and planning materials, components and assemblies in support of the manufacturing Master Production Schedule. The Production Supply Planner reports to the Supply chain Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
We now have a position for a Production Supply Planner/Buyer to join the team. The role will involve sourcing and planning materials, components and assemblies in support of the manufacturing Master Production Schedule. The Production Supply Planner reports to the Supply chain Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for producing and circulating the weekly Re-order report.
- Represent the organization in a responsible and professional manner.
- Monitors the Sales Orders and coordinates with relevant departments to decide whether to buy a part or make in house.
- Responsible for raising, distributing & closing of the work orders/ Purchase orders.
- Expediting Sales Orders requirements.
- Always ensure the organization is receiving goods and services in a timely manner.
- Responsible for all the Production Control activities and functions.
- To liaise with the Sales, Purchase, Logistics, Stores, Production & QC teams regarding prioritization of the Sales Orders and Work Orders.
- Expediting purchase orders, deciding the mode of transportation and required collection arrangements.
- Running month-end reports every month before the deadline.
- Ensure accurate and timely inputs of all transactions into Sage by his department.
- Monitors the Sales Orders and coordinates with relevant departments to decide whether to buy a part or make in house.
- Convert purchase and manufacturing demand from the Sales order/Production Schedule to Purchase Orders and Works Orders. Manage and update PO & WO delivery dates, quantities, and any special-sales order specific requirements, to ensure they meet the Sales order/Production Schedule requirements.
- Ensure stock levels are proactively managed in conjunction with demand levels set by ERP system.
- Analyse and recommend cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.
- Ensure all manufacturing data is accurate, including manufacturing routings, hours booked to work orders, materials issued to jobs.

- Expediting purchase orders, deciding the mode of transportation, and required collection arrangements.
- Ensure all invoice queries are closed in a timely and satisfactory manner, assisting inventory control with any queries in goods receiving.
- Undertake vendor analysis and selection along with identifying and establish supply agreements to the benefit the organization
- Participate in meetings and keep up to date on issues related to Purchase and Works Order delivery, New Product introductions, vendor performance, Metrics, capacity constraints and other related Supply Chain and manufacturing issues.
- Ensure all BOM updates are understood and prioritized within the manufacturing and supply process.
- Achieve target On-time delivery and Lead-time and inventory turn levels based on manufacturing and supply chain capacity/flexibility.
- Identify materials with no further use and recommend disposition.
- Engage in any other activities requested by the Supply Chain Manager/Purchasing Supervisor.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies.

- High School Degree or higher
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- 3-5 year of experience in as materials planner/buyer.
- Experience of using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems or similar
- Good understanding of supply chain processes.
- Understanding of supplier relationships
- Understanding of Logistics operations
- Results orientated and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines.
- Good communication skills.
