A butcher is responsible for preparing, cutting, and processing meat for sale and consumption. This includes trimming, deboning, grinding, packaging, depending on the workplace. Butchers must ensure that meat is handled in a safe, hygienic, and professional manner. They may also assist customers by recommending cuts and cooking methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Cut, trim, bone, and prepare meat for sale.
Use knives, saws, and other tools to process meat.
Ensure all meat is stored and displayed in a hygienic and appealing way.
Inspect meat for quality and freshness.
Follow health and safety regulations and keep the work area clean and sanitized.
Grind meat and prepare special cuts as requested by customers.
Package and label products for sale.
Provide customer service and advice on meat selection and cooking techniques.
Requirements and Skills:
Previous experience as a butcher or in meat processing is preferred.
Good knowledge of different meat cuts and preparation techniques.
Physical strength and stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy products.
Ability to use knives and meat processing equipment safely and efficiently.
Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Arabic Speaker- preferred .
