Key Responsibilities:
Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, poultry, and lamb.
Prepare meat cuts to customer specifications or for display in the meat counter.
Operate cutting equipment such as knives, saws, grinders, and slicers safely and accurately.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of products to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area according to food safety and health regulations.
Provide knowledgeable and courteous service to customers; assist with special orders or product recommendations.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering meat supplies as needed.
Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and hygiene protocols.
Assist in pricing, packaging, and displaying meat products.
Dispose of waste and by-products in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a butcher or meat cutter (retail, grocery, or wholesale setting preferred).
Knowledge of different meat cuts and preparation techniques.
Ability to use butchery tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good physical stamina; ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
Basic math skills and the ability to weigh and portion products accurately.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
