Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Butcher to prepare and cut meat products for sale or serving in our [butcher shop, grocery store, restaurant, or meat processing facility]. The ideal candidate will have experience in meat cutting, trimming, and packaging while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Cut, debone, grind, and prepare various types of meat (beef, pork, poultry, lamb, etc.) according to customer requests or company standards.
• Operate meat saws, grinders, slicers, and other equipment safely.
• Weigh, wrap, label, and price meat products accurately.
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of meat to maintain freshness.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP, OSHA, USDA, or local guidelines).
• Assist customers with meat selections, provide recommendations, and answer questions.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• May assist in processing specialty meats (sausages, cured meats, etc.).

• Proven experience as a Butcher or Meat Cutter (apprenticeship or on-the-job training acceptable).
• Knowledge of different cuts of meat and butchering techniques.
• Ability to use meat-cutting tools and machinery safely.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy meat products (50+ lbs).
• Basic math skills for weighing and pricing products.
• Excellent customer service skills (if working in retail).
• Food handler's certification (preferred or required, depending on location).
