Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced

Butcher

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in cutting and preparing various types of meat, especially beef, lamb, poultry, and seafood. The butcher will be responsible for ensuring top-quality meat cuts, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and supporting kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, lamb, poultry, and seafood to specifications. Prepare meat cuts for cooking or storage according to the kitchen's requirements. Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety at all times. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the procurement team for reorders. Store meats properly in refrigerators or freezers to ensure freshness. Maintain butcher tools and equipment in good working condition. Ensure accurate labeling and pricing of meat portions where applicable. Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to meet menu and recipe requirements. Follow all health and safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP).

Qualifications and Requirements:

Proven experience as a butcher, preferably in a hotel, restaurant. Expertise in cutting beef and a wide variety of meats. Strong knowledge of meat quality, grading, and portion control. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards. Physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting. High attention to detail and precision in meat preparation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.

Preferred:

Knowledge of international meat cuts and processing techniques. Experience with industrial meat processing equipment.

Work Environment:

Exposure to cold environments (refrigeration areas). Standing for long periods. Use of sharp tools and machinery.
