About this role



Are you analytically minded and intellectually curious? Do you thrive on transforming complex economic data into actionable insights? Are you excited about influencing policy and economic strategy in high-impact regions like the GCC? If so, this role is for you. As a Junior Economist, you'll support the development of cutting-edge economic analysis and policy reports. You will monitor global and regional macroeconomic trends, conduct rigorous market research, and help assess the economic impact of policies and initiatives. This role offers a dynamic environment where no two projects are the same and where your expertise in macroeconomics, trade, FDI, and industrial policy will be both challenged and sharpened. You will work closely with a collaborative team, leveraging leading data sources and economic models to deliver high-quality insights that shape strategic decision-making.



What you will do



Support the analysis of economic policies, macroeconomic trends, and indicators



Support economic impact assessments (eg., multipliers, regressions, economic modeling)



Monitor the macroeconomic landscape at UAE local, GCC regional and global scale



Conduct extensive market research, including benchmarking, trend identification, industry / entity profiling, data analysis



Collaborate in the elaboration of economics and policy reports



Review documentation and summarize key points



Who you are

Background & linguistic skills:

You have a passion in conducting economic / market research in top tier economic research and/or consulting firm (Oxford Economics, EIU, etc.)



You are someone with a minimum of 3 years of work experience (i.e., market research, economic research, consultancy, credit rating agencies, banking, business intelligence, central banks, ministries, economic/financial research)



You hold a Bachelors's degree in Economics/Finance or similar from a top-tier university (PhD or Masters is a big plus)



You are familiar with macroeconomics, FDI, trade, industrial policy, and market intelligence



You have knowledge of relevant data providers / sources (World Bank, IMF, OECD, UN Comtrade, Global Trade Alerts, Macrobond, Bloomberg, Fitch, Moody's, S&P, Focus Economics, Oxford Economics, EIU, etc.)



Having publications in economics related to trade, FDI, industrial policies, economic policies, and macroeconomics is a plus



You have knowledge of the GCC economics, strategies, and policies is a plus, particularly the UAE and Saudi



You have knowledge of literature on trade, FDI, industrial policies, and economic policies



You are experienced in building economic models, including forecasting, is a plus



You have some experience in data visualization (a plus, including PowerBi and Tableau)



You have a solid understanding



You enjoy collaborating with people and working in teams



You are fully proficient in English and Arabic
