Proposition:

Oman Shell is already an important business for the company and we have ambitions to grow it into a low carbon energy hub, adding to our material and long-lived hydrocarbon position new low carbon value chains that can be selected and scaled in response to customer demands. Our business includes interests in Petroleum Development Oman and Oman LNG, operated upstream gas production and we are developing low carbon hydrogen projects enabled carbon capture and storage and renewables.

Where you fit in

The Business Development Manager will report to the GM Commercial and New Business Development, Oman and will co-own parts of our growth agenda. You will be part of the commercial leadership team.

What's the role?

Originating and leading or taking a leading role in a wide variety of deals and commercial opportunities with decision making and governance via Oman Shell or Shell's Strategy, Acquisitions, Divestment and New Business Development organisation

Lead material deals and opportunities

Support our most complex opportunities with, including leading venture implementation and integration

Commercial lead for exploration access and exploration portfolio optimisation

Drive strategic integration across gas and other value chains opportunities

Work closely with the corporate Strategy, Acquisitions, Divestment and New Business Development organisation to ensure coordination and transfer of best practice in opportunity management and decision quality

You will be personally accountable for delivering projects over the full lifecycle, from origination to deal completion and delivering the promised value. You will lead cross-functional project teams, often across multiple locations. You will play a leading role within the broader commercial community in Oman Shell, actively supporting team development.

What we need from You

You have led commercial projects and deals in the upstream oil and gas and LNG with $100 mlns of value, representing them to senior management and leading cross functional teams

Significant depth of experience in the energy sector in all of the following areas: deal making, joint venture management and commercial optimisation of operating businesses

Commercial experience across different energy value chains and different maturities of opportunity from origination to operation

You are an experienced negotiator and can demonstrate that you have in depth understanding of value in integrated energy value chains

Demonstrated commitment to Goal Zero HSSE performance, including in deal making

Proven ability to work across disciplines motivating team to common goal and ensuring objectives prioritised and risks and opportunities assessed, ranked and mitigated or captured

Record of delivery through strategic stakeholder management

Driven by business value with commitment to decision quality

You may have a background in finance, valuation or a technical discipline, but you will have worked in several deal making or commercial roles
