The Role

Dimensions
  • Shell Branch Offices: Riyadh and Bahrain
  • Businesses in Saudi Arabia: JOSLOC, ACMC, Catalysts and Technologies, Retail, Aviation and others.
  • Stakeholder Management: Government, NOC, private businesses and academia.
Responsibilities in Business Business Development Responsibilities:
  • Identify in-country opportunities for Shell (in Sectors and Decarbonization, and other Line of business).
  • Provide support and coordination for in-country business opportunities for all Line/Class of business.
  • Responsible for delivering the country strategy.
  • Support existing new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain business relations with government and private stakeholders to provide business insights.
  • Recognize community priority, business priority, and the business environment.
Business Relations Responsibilities:
  • Monitor business environment and assess current or possible issues that might affect Shell’s reputation and license to operate.
  • Participate and represent Shell in different local and regional relevant events.
  • Maintain and build relations with Shell stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Corporate Relations to strengthen Shell’s Reputation in country.
  • Co-develop, maintain and manage the stakeholders engagement plan with CR.
  • Site-Owner for the Business Development and GR SharePoint site.
  • Chief of Staff role for the Country Crisis Management Team.
  • Responsible for the SOSSA Governance Calendar.
  • Act as the Ethics and Compliance in-country focal point.
  • Meet HSE responsibilities as stated in SOSSA’s HSE policies; full commitment and accountability; ensure implementation and adherence to the requirements of the HSE management system as specified in the HSE Policies and Procedure or HSE items cascaded

Experience & Qualifications Required The position requires a professional with a moderate experience in communication, public relation, and media. More specifically, the incumbent:
  • Minimum bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Engineering (or similar)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar job (preferred with a multi-national company)
  • Has a proven track record of building enduring and trust-based relationships with counter parties across various seniority levels?
  • Is a self-started professional with high capacity of analysis and sound advisory competency?
  • Is an energetic leader, resilient and able to manage ambiguity, high stress levels and stakeholder tensions?
  • Has a thorough understanding of the Saudi and Gulf political and business environment, and familiarity with key stakeholders
