Core Focus: External Growth & Future Opportunities
The BDM is the "hunter" and "strategist." Their primary goal is to identify and create new opportunities for long-term value. They look outward at the market, competitors, and potential partners to drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research & Strategy:
Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and potential customer segments.
Analyze competitor strategies and market positioning.
Develop and propose new business strategies and growth initiatives.
2. Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Actively seek out and generate new sales leads through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and social media (e.g., LinkedIn).
Attend industry conferences and events to build a pipeline.
3. Partnership & Relationship Building:
Identify, negotiate, and secure partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners.
4. Sales & Pitching:
Develop compelling proposals and presentations for new clients or partners.
Lead negotiations and close new business deals to meet or exceed targets.
5. Client Onboarding & Handoff:
Manage the initial phase of a new client relationship.
Ensure a smooth handoff of the new client account to the account management or operations team.

Operations Manager (OM)
Core Focus: Internal Efficiency & Current Execution
The OM is the "farmer" and "executor." Their primary goal is to ensure the company's day-to-day activities run smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. They look inward at processes, people, and systems to deliver existing products/services reliably.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Management & Optimization:
Design, manage, and improve core business processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Implement and oversee quality control standards.
Streamline workflows to eliminate waste and reduce costs.
2. Team & Resource Management:
Supervise, lead, and mentor teams within operations (e.g., production, logistics, customer service).
Manage staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution.
Oversee inventory, supply chain, and vendor relationships for procurement.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control:
Develop and manage the operations budget.
Identify and implement cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality.
4. Systems & Technology:
Evaluate, implement, and manage software and tools that support operational efficiency (e.g., ERP, CRM, project management tools).
Ensure technology infrastructure supports daily business needs.
5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Track and analyze operational performance metrics (KPIs).
Report on departmental performance to senior management.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
