About the Role

Come up with the company\'s transportation strategy in the UAE and be in charge of putting it into action.
Find, evaluate, and suggest new transport services and goods (both local and international) with the goal of growing the GCC trucking market.
Build, engage, and formalize the complicated vendor relationships needed to set up new transport services and improve the ones that are already in place.
Do study to find new markets and customers\' needs, evaluate market trends, and make plans based on what you find.
Find, compare, and suggest price arrangements for new transportation services
Get bids on operational pre-sales quotations, tenders, and Service Level Agreements, assess them, and analyze them. Take part in negotiations and manage agreements with specialized carriers
Be in charge of the plan and implementation of the Dubai Land-Freight P&L and budget to meet sales goals.

Make plans for staffing and funds for fleet capital that are in line with the Freight Logistics/Land Transport Strategy. Monitor & control costs and ensure financial compliance
Set up plans for staffing and capital needs for the fleet that are in line with the Freight Logistics/Land Transport Strategy. Make sure there are enough people and tools to provide high-quality service.
Manage the daily execution of service for local and cross-border deliveries to ensure high quality service and efficiency.
Follow up with the Service Delivery Team and customs clearance team (Freight Forwarding) on a regular basis and make sure that standard operating procedures are followed in an organized way. This will make sure that the value chain works smoothly.
Talk to customers and work with them to make new business plans or solve serious or repeating problems that are brought up by direct reports during the normal course of operations.
Set KPIs and keep an eye on them to improve success in freight logistics/Land.

Give suggestions for hiring new subordinates and make sure all the resources needed to do tasks and activities are available.
Oversee staff under you, give them work to do, check on their performance, and review the results (if needed).
Act as a coach for subordinates, figure out what training and career development they need, suggest training classes, and keep an eye on their personnel records, such as timesheets, discipline, vacations, leaves, and absenteeism (if relevant).

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree or an equal amount of work experience to do the job well.
At least 10 years of work in the field
Experience and working knowledge of carrier operation, shipment routing, and distribution methods; experience in industrial transportation operation, consolidator systems and techniques; understanding of the complexity of the law; ability to make and carry out contracts; understanding of costing, performance measurement, and inventory control; ability to work under pressure; strong management and computer skills. Management of trucking service providers based on local information
GCC experience is a must, and you should have run activities in/to/from Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi.
