We are looking for a strategic and proactive Business Development Manager (BDM) with 5 to 10 years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong
industry network and an existing client portfolio, enabling them to bring in immediate business and expand our market presence across a comprehensive range of shipping and logistics services.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective business development strategies to acquire new clients and grow revenue across all shipping and logistics services, including freight forwarding, warehousing, customs clearance, air and sea freight
Leverage existing client relationships to generate immediate sales opportunities and increase market share
Identify potential business opportunities through market research, networking, and industry events
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers/exporters, and logistics companies
Lead sales negotiations and close contracts to meet or exceed business targets
Collaborate closely with operations, customer service, and documentation teams to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adapt business strategies accordingly
Prepare and present detailed sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to senior management
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
Requirements:
Minimum 5 to 10 years
of proven business development or sales experience in the
shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics industry
Demonstrable success in
generating and closing business deals,
with a strong existing network and client portfolio
Deep understanding of
shipping products and logistics solutions, including customs and import/export regulations
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented approach
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as lead cross-functional teams
Proficiency in English and Arabic (even a basic level of Arabic will do)
Valid driver's license is preferred but not mandatory
Preferred:
Established contacts within shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers/exporters, and air and sea freight operators
Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management
