What we want
The Business Administrator II at Texas A&M Qatar is responsible for costing allocations in Workday as well as many aspects of local payroll. The BA II will coordinate with payroll budget approvers and ensure all TAMUQ employees are sourced according to the approved budget while also producing payroll reports for audits. The BA II serves as a back up to the Assistant Director, Business Operations as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Business Operations, Texas A&M Qatar. This position is NOT located in the United States. One must be willing to relocate to Doha, Qatar.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations
    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Working knowledge of Workday system and the costing allocation process
    • FAMIS/Canopy experience to include Payroll Cost Transfers, encumbrances, and monitoring balances
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Excel
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • TAMU and TAMU Qatar payroll, business or hiring experience
      • Experience working with or developing Laserfiche forms
        Responsibilities:
        • Costing allocations and payroll cost transfers - Verifies payroll and incentive sourcing with the appropriate areas and submits costing allocations in Workday. Produces and reviews reports to ensure accuracy of all payroll and incentive sourcing. Monitors clearing accounts to ensure payroll expenses do not post to these accounts. Prepares and submits payroll cost transfers within 30 days of notification that a correction is needed. Monitors payroll cost transfers to ensure they route and post timely. Coordinates with account holders and budget approvers to ensure costing allocation changes are posted timely and accurately.
          • Payroll Bank Reconciliations - Conducts monthly payroll bank reconciliations under supervision of the Director, Business Operations. Coordinates with banking for the return of any overage of funds received from College Station for payroll purposes. May implement auditing of business procedures.
            • AggieBuy approvals for local payroll - Reviews and approves AggieBuy documents for local payroll payments. Creates, monitors, and releases any required manual encumbrances for local payroll. Requests payroll funds from College Station for locally paid employees and those receiving local split deposits. Ensures advance funds are requested from TAMU for payroll to ensure payments are made on time.
              • Produces monthly reports - Monitors and clears payroll deficits on Qatar Foundation accounts. Monitors and controls unit expenditures plan within budget guidelines and makes projections. Develops annual budget documents for approval. Produces monthly Workday reports as requested to assist with data analysis. Assists with payroll costing data for audits and other purposes as needed.
                • Serves as backup to the Assistant Director, Business Operations - Serves as a backup for approvals in AggieBuy as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by Director, Business Operations. May serve as a resource to principal investigators for grant development, administration, and reporting. May participate in hiring and training of subordinate business staff and student workers. May supervise and resolve staff conflicts. Performs other duties as assigned.
