PROJECT

Transportation and mobility consultant SYSTRA has established a global bridge design centre of excellence following the firm's acquisition of the North American specialist bridge consultant International Bridge Technologies. SYSTRA is aiming to become one of the world's top ten bridge consultants with its first strategic acquisition, which it says will allow the company to offer 'deep technical expertise across the full spectrum of bridge design services.

MISSIONS

• Studying and conducting calculations of complex bridge structures
• Operating advanced structural software, spreadsheets, etc. to define structural demand and capacity
• Prepare calculations / design reports, specifications, technical memos/ documents
• Prepare engineering sketches for technicians to produce drawings
• Review, mark-up drawings and ensure QA / QC procedures are in place for drafting production
• Work under the mentoring of experienced senior engineers and project managers and seek support and assistance when required

• Min. 5 years of Experience in Bridge Engineering
• Good knowledge in Resistance of Materials (Structural Analysis)
• Good knowledge in prestressed/reinforced concrete and steel design
• Experience of segmental post-tensioned box girder bridges, and/or cable-supported structures
• Experience/awareness of segmental post-tensioned box girder bridges, and/or cable-supported structures
• Knowledge/awareness of international design standards such as AASHTO, Eurocodes, CSA-CAN, Indian and/or Australian standards
• Good supervision and management skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
