Job Description

:

To plan, develop, and implement breeding programs to improve genetic quality and meet production targets. This can involve selecting animals for breeding, performing artificial insemination (AI) or overseeing natural breeding processes, and monitoring reproductive cycles. To oversee the daily care of all animals, including feeding according to nutritional guidelines, health monitoring, and ensuring proper living conditions and shelter. Coordinate with veterinarians for check-ups, emergency treatments, and the administration of medications and vaccinations. To supervise, train, and manage farm workers and laborers, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and according to established procedures. Develop work schedules, assign duties, and foster a safe and collaborative work environment. To maintain accurate and detailed records of breeding activities, animal health, production data (e.g., milk yield, growth metrics), and inventory of feed, medicines, and supplies. May assist with budgeting and cost control efforts. Conduct regular inspections and oversee the maintenance and repair of farm infrastructure (barns, fences, water systems) and equipment. Ensure strict adherence to all biosecurity protocols, safety guidelines, and relevant animal welfare regulations to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain compliance with industry standards.
