As a Bioinformatician you will work independently and collaboratively with the research team managing and analyzing large amounts of technical and scientific data. As part of the role you will be expected to create a next-gen AI feasible data platform coupled with well packaged data pipelines across multiple sources to empower data analysis throughout the entire scientific and translational research. You will have a strong interest in learning new programme languages and environments, tools and basic biology.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with leading experts in AI and bioinformatics to develop a user-friendly data platform for biological sciences;
Design connections between data and assist algorithm engineers in machine learning;
Advise other teams on data mining and processing;
Construct data pipelines to receive and sort data from various sources;
Stay up-to-date with new developments in bioinformatics and seek out opportunities for improvement;
Identify and resolve complex issues that arise;
Deliver information effectively to stakeholders and team members;
Evaluate and propose technology choices and directions with cost-benefit considerations in mind;
Education and Requirements
Bachelors and or Masters in Computer Engineering or Science in Informatics, Bioengineering, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics.
Software developer industry experience with git;
Hands on coding experience;
Familiar with graph databases such as Neo4j, ArangoDB, Apache Giraph;
Experience in data mining and data processing frameworks;
Awareness of new bioinformatic trends;
Understand genomics and bioinformatic concepts;
Experience with databases PDB, StringDB, Uniport, Depmap;
Experience with command line tools like Linux environment;
Strong programming skills such as Bash, Python,R and Perl.
