Job Description

A Civil and Landscape BIM Modeler develops detailed 3D models for civil and landscape projects, integrates them with other disciplines, and generates 2D drawings from the models. Responsibilities include creating models for site grading, utilities, and softscape/hardscape elements, performing clash detection, and ensuring the model meets project quality standards. Key skills include proficiency in software like Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD. Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain 3D models:

Create detailed and accurate 3D BIM models for both civil works (like grading, drainage, and utilities) and landscape elements (such as hardscape, softscape, and lighting).

Integrate models:

Coordinate and integrate models from different disciplines (e.g., architecture, structural, and MEP) to ensure consistency and identify conflicts.

Clash detection:

Conduct clash detection sessions and perform analysis to resolve conflicts between systems before construction begins.

Generate drawings and reports:

Create and extract 2D drawings, plans, sections, and schedules from the 3D models for design and construction documentation.

Quality control:

Check and review modeling work to ensure it meets quality control standards and project requirements.

Model management:

Assist in setting up new projects, developing project execution plans, and maintaining model databases and templates.
Required skills and qualifications

Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD. Understanding of civil engineering and landscape architecture principles, including site grading and sustainable design. Ability to develop and maintain models to meet specific project requirements (e.g., Level of Development). Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with other project stakeholders. Experience with preparing construction documentation, including drawings and schedules. Familiarity with project information models (PIMs) and other BIM standards and protocols. Bachelor's degree in a related design or technology field is often preferred.
