Job Description

The BIM Architect/Specialist directly reporting to the Lead architect and Senior Architect within the Design team. He will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Architectural solutions and details that achieve technical compliance using BIM tools and workflows.

Key Objectives

To be actively involved in the delivery of project packages or parts of projects as part of the team.

To be actively involved in the design and technical production of projects.

To be able to work under pressure to meet project timeline.

Demonstrate proficiency in using the latest design software and BIM tools.

Ensure seamless coordination with other disciplines and contribute to the QA/QC process to enhance project efficiency and delivery.

Expectations & Responsibilities related to your role

1. DESIGN

Working within the BIM and design team undertaking the Architecture modeling and detailing of projects. Supporting the BIM Captain by providing technical expertise on projects to ensure that they are delivered to technical and quality standards. Undertaking Architecture Modelling and Architecture Detailing on projects. Working with the Technical Specialist on the delivery of projects using BIM and Design software packages, as required. Reviewing the work of the BIM delivery team and ensuring that projects are delivered to the agreed outputs on time and quality standards. Assist with the preparation of expressions of interest and proposals as required. Prepared Authority submittal package. Using Parametric script to enhance the delivery of the project milestone. Assist in the development and implementation of companywide BIM standards and procedures. Maintain BIM templates and libraries, providing BIM production support for project teams including project model setup and primary discipline project work. Create Revit families in response to project needs. Monitor project delivery to ensure compliance with the agreed upon strategy, standards and work processes.

2. TECHNICAL AND QA/QC

Produce drawings or oversee the production of drawings in accordance with company guidelines and within project deadlines. Uses the company file naming and information filing standards and follow quality standards in overall work. Performs QA/QC checks of project/package before presenting for review. Basic understanding of building construction, codes, and regulations, and obligations of the structural design. Progressive improvement of quality. Help resolve BIM design issues, oversee coordinated digital documents to project team and link BIM to additional applications. Coordinating with all other departments for timely resolution of issues affecting the project. Shall support project standards and coordination with consultants. Shall provide guidance for BIM Model setup creation of Revit families.

Person Profile

Education and Training

Master's degree in Architecture or related field

Good knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools Autodesk certification a plus.

2-5 years of drafting experience using Revit and AutoCAD to produce detailed architectural drawings. Proficient using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office. Able to read & create a full set of construction drawings with details. Proficiency in Rhino is considered a plus.
Confidence to work within multi-disciplinary design environments

Planning and time management skills.

Model making skills are desirable.

Knows scripts and other parametric design.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years professional experience.

Previous experience in complex and tall buildings

Possesses experience across diverse projects, including residential, mixed-use developments, retail, hotels, civic...etc.
