Job Description
Our Multi National Design Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced BIM Architect to join their team in Dubai to work on prestigious new projects in the UAE and wider GCC. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a BIM Architect on high profile new projects spanning commercial, hospitality, residential and mixed use projects with a recognised design consultancy in the UAE. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client. Key Responsibilities:
- To work on design projects from start to finish, consulting with clients, creating and editing draft designs, and monitoring project progress throughout construction.
- To keep their supervisors and other team members up to date on all updates to projects and they may go to construction sites to monitor construction progress in person and help conduct troubleshooting as needed.
- To coordinate construction projects as well; requires coordinating the work of a wide number of construction and design team members to ensure a project is completed successfully within project specifications, deadlines and budget.
- Has the authority to produce detailed workings, drawings and specifications.
- Has the authority to discuss the objectives, requirements and budget of a project and in some cases help to select a site
- The main duties of the Architect include, but are not limited to: Creating building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) & REVIT applications.
- Liaising with construction professionals about the feasibility of potential projects.
- Working around constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact and project budget.
- Working closely with a team of other professionals such as building service engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors and architectural technologists.
- Adapting plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction.
- Prepare and present feasibility reports and design proposals to the client.
- Assess the impact on the local environment.
- Keep within financial budgets and deadlines.
- Specify the nature and quality of materials required.
- Draw up tender documents for contracts.
- Project manage and help to coordinate the work of contractors.
- Resolve problems and issues that arise during construction.
- Ensure that the environmental impact of the project is managed.
- Responsible for Concept, Schematic, Detailed, Tender and Construction drawings.
- Prepare drawings and forms for submissions to authorities and developers.
- Prepare drawings according to the standards and terms of the company and clients.
- Responsible to add or make necessary changes to designs while checking and verifying that drawings conform to specifications.
- Has the authority to modify the drawings as per the Design Manager instructions
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or diploma in Architecture or Interior Design
- Previous experience of working in a recognised Design and Engineering Consultancy.
- Minimum Five (5) years work experience in Architectural Design
- Ability to use AutoCad, Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop
- Good knowledge of architectural practice including site planning, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering and construction costs.
- Good time management skills.
- Working knowledge of local authority codes
