, advanced transformer calculations, BOM preparation, GTP documentation, and providing engineering support to tendering and marketing teams.
This is a
core design engineering role
, with customer-facing techno-commercial responsibilities including technical clarifications, bid support, and approvals.
Candidates must have hands-on experience designing power transformers from
33 kV to 400 kV
and be proficient in CAD tools, VIT, SolidWorks, or equivalent transformer design software.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design (Technical Support)
Review technical specifications, identify deviations, and prepare compliance statements.
Provide technical inputs for costing, BOQs, and commercial proposals.
Prepare, review, and finalize
GTPs
and GA Drawings as per tender and customer requirements.
Create detailed datasheets, calculation reports, technical schedules, and design submissions.
Perform complete electrical design of power transformers including:
Electromagnetic calculations
Thermal calculations
Dielectric design
Short-circuit withstand calculations
Optimize transformer design to meet performance targets, cost parameters, losses, and impedance requirements.
Ensure 100% compliance with
IEC, IS, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA
and global client specifications (US / Europe / Africa).
2. BOM (Bill of Materials) Preparation
Prepare detailed BOM for all transformer components:
Core laminations, windings, copper/Al conductors
Insulation materials
Tank & structural parts
OLTC/DETC, bushings, cooling system, accessories
Optimize material selection based on technical requirements and cost.
Coordinate with procurement for technical validation of materials and specifications.
3. Technical Marketing & Client Engagement
Present transformer technical capabilities, design insights, and manufacturing strengths to customers.
Support marketing with technical content such as catalogues, presentations, and case studies and assist in furnishing Techno commercial proposals.
Resolve technical issues raised during production or customer visits.
Participate in design validation meetings and customer audits.
