Job Description

Our client is an affiliate of Northwest Behavioral Associates, dedicated to providing evidence-based support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). They offer tailored interventions and individualized programs for children with ASD, through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapies. Their goal is to empower children across the spectrum to live independently and create community awareness and acceptance. Responsibilities: Behavioral Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs, strengths, and areas for improvement of individuals with ASD. This may involve evaluating communication skills, socialization, play, motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and other relevant areas. Individualized Program Development: Collaborate with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to design and develop individualized ABA programs tailored to the unique needs and goals of each learner. These programs are based on the principles of ABA and aim to break down skills into smaller, measurable steps for systematic teaching. Skill Instruction: Implement ABA-based teaching techniques to instruct learners in various skills, including language and communication, social skills, motor skills, and more. This may involve one-on-one or small-group instruction. Conducting one-on-one Sessions: Based on the learner's individualized program and behavior plans and behavior analysis. Data Collection and Analysis: Continuously collect and analyze data on learner performance to track progress, identify areas of improvement, and make necessary adjustments to the intervention plan. Reinforcement: Use reinforcement strategies to motivate and encourage desired behaviors and skill acquisition. This includes identifying effective reinforcers and applying them consistently. Behavior Management: Employ behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors and develop strategies to reduce or replace them with more adaptive behaviors. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a BCBA and other members of the educational team, including parents, to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to intervention. Share progress reports and discuss strategies for the learner's development. Professional Development: Stay current with ABA best practices and research and engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in the field. Advocacy and Support: Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals with ASD and provide emotional support to both learners and their families. Progress Documentation: Maintain detailed records of learner progress, interventions implemented, and outcomes achieved, as well as assist with the preparation of reports and documentation for regulatory purposes. Promotion of Independence: Work towards the goal of promoting independence in learners, so they can function more effectively in daily life and in mainstream educational settings. Qualifications: MA or BA degree in children's special education. RBT Certificate is a plus. 3 to 5 years of experience in children's special education. Experience in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Experience in giving one-on-one sessions. Experience with kids on the Autism spectrum. Excellent English and Arabic language proficiency. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email Proficiency.
