Imperium Commodity Search is proud to be working with a base metals trading firm in Dubai, looking to grow out their trading team further through the addition of a non-ferrous metal's trader. Our client offers a very attractive opportunity for the right candidate with the ability to grow with the business and increase their trading footprint as they continue their strong growth from the last couple of years over 2019/2020.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Trade physical base / non-ferrous metals (copper, nickel, zinc, tin, manganese, chrome, aluminium etc) in your niche geography
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and smelters across the Middle East and Africa
• Promote purchase activity and foster relationships with suppliers on the ground in Africa
• Actively promote new client relationships and identify new trading partnerships with metals businesses across the region
• Work with internal hedging/risk management teams on hedging your physical metal trading book
• Assist the operations team on chartering, logistics and contracts of physical metal trades
• Work with the team to identify new opportunities and enhance the company's growing presence globally
• Trade back to back metal products (copper, nickel, zinc, tin, manganese, chrome, aluminium etc) and manage own PnL book

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in physical non-ferrous / base metal trading
• Good network of suppliers, smelters and distributors on the ground in Africa is key
• Prior experience in a multinational trading firm would be a benefit
• Experience in an independent metal trading business is key
• Fluent in English (additional languages beneficial)
• Relationships in Africa and South America would be a bonus
• Strong understanding of base metal trading operations
• Experience managing own physical trading book across base metals
• Hungry, energetic and a real desire to work in a small, growing and entrepreneurial team is essential
• True desire to grow a base metal trading book
