Purpose:
  • Provide friendly, professional and efficient bar service ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in a manner consistent with Business Unit standards.
  • Maintain efficient workflow by adhering to the Sequence of Service and all timeframes and standards detailed in relevant SOPs in the F&B Standards Manual
Main Duties:
  • Identifying & meeting customer needs and expectations correctly, including those with special needs, and provide appropriate products, services or information.
  • Meet all reasonable needs and requests of customers within specified time frames.
  • Recognise customer dissatisfaction promptly and take action to resolve the situation according to individual level of responsibility and customer feedback/ complaint procedures.
  • Offer assistance to colleagues when required, to ensure designated work goals are met.
  • Demonstrate trust, support and respect towards team members in day-to-day work activities.
  • Conduct communication with customers and colleagues in a polite, professional and friendly manner.
  • Practice high standards of personal presentation in accordance with Company Grooming & Presentation Standards
  • Seek assistance from other team members, supervisors and managers when required.
  • Masters all aspects of the beverage standards manual and able to produce the 50 most common global beverages as ability to create ALC cocktails.
Operational
  • Take orders from customers in a timely, professional and friendly manner.
  • Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks according to Beverage Recipes.
  • Serve alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages according to defined standards
  • Collect money / vouchers for drinks served and process financial transactions according to Company cashiering procedures.
  • Order liquors and supplies utilizing the ADACO system.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses attractively.
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Replenish bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts.
  • Ensure that all stock is established as per par levels and stored according to Company Food Hygiene Standards.
  • Ensure that the mise-en-place of the bar i.e., condiments, tray cloths, cocktail napkins etc. are ready for service as per the requirements of the individual outlet and expected business level requirements prior to opening.
  • Ensure that the guest is presented with the correct order and that all drinks are prepared and served as agreed in the standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of cocktails, beverages and wines to advise the guests and colleagues when necessary.
  • Undertake opening, closing & cleaning tasks as detailed on checklists.
  • Inform you leaders /Managers of any stock losses, problems or unavailable items.
  • Assist in the stocktaking of beverages and operating equipment.
  • Coordinate with Stewarding to ensure equipment and bar area is always kept hygienically clean and tidy and sufficient glassware is available for the levels of business.
  • Control and rotate stock on a FIFO (first in first out) system.
  • Ensure the checking of expiration dates and that all perishable garnishes are stored and recorded in designated storage area.
  • Display a responsible attitude towards the service of alcohol to ensure minors are not served and intoxicated guest are politely refused service.
  • Demonstrate some ability & independence in problem solving.
  • Communicate details of complaints or issues that could result in complaints, loss of business, productivity or profit to your leaders or Manager.
Administrational
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date temperature records for all fridge units within the bar whilst on duty.
  • Completes all cashiering paperwork according to Company cashiering procedures.
  • Reviews the notice board and briefing sheets on a daily basis to be well informed of operations / events, city information, sold-out items, daily specials and any other information that may be relevant to the job.
  • Completes cleaning, opening & closing checklists when instructed by senior colleagues.
  • Assists in recording inventories/ stock-takes as required.
  • Performs side duties including folding napkins, rolling silverware, cleaning trays, restocking shelves, filling ice bins, cleaning and breaking down service area, using cleaning compounds, and other duties as required.
  • Reports any possible theft or misuse of the property immediately to a member of management.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Manager/ Assistant Manager/ Team Leader or Senior Management. Assists in the “general beverage knowledge” staff training.
Health and Safety Duties
  • Exercise the “duty of care”, i.e., the moral and legal obligation to protect the guests, staffs, contractors, vendors, suppliers and all other persons within our care from harm or loss when they are exposed to our activities or using our services, with watchfulness, attention, caution and prudence that a reasonable person in all circumstances would.
  • Provide, as far as reasonably practicable, the highest level of protection, against harm or loss from hazards and risks to the health, safety and welfare, of oneself and of the persons working under own’s authority.
  • Practice due diligence through assessment and review such that all risks and hazards are controlled and maintained to acceptable level in any modification, introduction of new process, machine and/or even engaging new persons in the business to ensure that all aspects and considerations are sufficiently looked into prior to implementation or engagement.
  • Commit to safe systems of work by adhering to agreed processes that are put in place, which can include, but not limited to those in the approved manuals, policies, procedures and SOPS and thus it shall be everyone’s responsibility to know and understand thoroughly these systems and processes, execute properly and avoid short cuts.
  • Take ownership of own’s health and safety for the matters within one’s control or ability to influence, through leadership by example and ensure that the rest of the persons within one’s responsibility and influence, including contractors, follow through
  • Be prudent by adhering to the laws, regulations, applicable standards and guidelines imposed by the governing authorities by, including but not limited to, possessing and updating the necessary professional and other business-related licenses, securing and renewing timely the permits and certificates, and getting medical clearances, sufficient training and appropriate qualifications required for the performance of work or job.
  • Follow strictly the rules and regulations set by the company to protect the lives and welfare of the persons involved in its business processes, including the protection of property and environment from damages and other forms of losses.
  • Prevent accidents / incidents to happen by promptly reporting the presence of hazards and risks, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions, and escalate issues and concerns at the work place to immediate superiors or to persons in authority who can assist in addressing with appropriate and timely actions thus preventing them to worsen, complicate or magnify into unmanageable huge proportions.
  • Report, investigate, cooperate and resolve incidences involving oneself and persons within own’s control and influence, timely and accurately.
  • Contribute to a healthy, illness-free work place by observing proper personal hygiene, high standard of cleanliness and observing consistent housekeeping as a part of one’s responsibility.
  • Report sickness / illnesses that occurred to oneself or to any person in the team, including those unsanitary and unhygienic conditions, that may potentially affect performance and productivity, safety and welfare while performing the work, spread or infect others and/or cause inconvenience to others and guests.
  • Participate in company activities with the objective of improving the readiness to emergencies, awareness to health, safety and environment and enhancing the work-life and employee welfare
Are You a Star?
Qualifications: Essential
  • High School Certificate.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certification.
  • Cash handling experience using Point of Sales Systems
Desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or degree in hospitality or hotel management
Experience: Essential 2 -5 years’ experience in a similar role Desirable
  • Worked in a busy entertainment facility or casual dining restaurant serving alcoholic beverages
