Ballistic steel welder / MIG Welder Job description:

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks on ballistic or armor-grade steel materials.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, or specifications to determine the required welds and dimensions.
• Proficient in selecting the appropriate welding method based on the project requirements.
• Operate welding equipment and tools such as welding machines, grinders, plasma cutters, and other necessary tools to perform the work.
• Inspecting welded joints and ensuring the quality and integrity of the welds by conducting visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and using measuring instruments to ensure that the welded components meet the required standards and specifications.
• Maintain records of work, including documenting welding procedures, material specifications, and quality control reports.
• Work closely with engineers, designers, and other professionals involved in the manufacturing or repair of ballistic or armored structures.
• Must have a strong understanding of welding processes and be skilled in working with specialized materials.

Required Skillset:

• Previous experience within the armor industry \xe2\x80\x93 minimum 2 years.
• Skilled in various welding techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), or specialized welding processes specific to working with armor-grade steel.
• Confident with welding process MIG 135/tig 141 solid wire electrode.
• Current Welder qualification to ISO 9606-1 is preferrable.
• Familiar with various welding techniques, safety protocols, blueprint reading, and material handling.
• Good understanding of welding safety procedures and ensure proper ventilation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of materials.
• Effective communication and reporting skills are essential.
• Collaborating with team members, following instructions, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment are important aspects of the job.
• Knowledge of Ballistics and Safety Standards.
