Prepare and bake breads, cakes, pastries, and desserts according to approved recipes and production schedules.
Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients accurately to ensure product consistency and quality.
Operate and maintain baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers.
Ensure all baked items meet quality, taste, and presentation standards before service or display.
Follow
FIFO
, portion control, and proper labeling procedures.
Monitor freshness, shelf life, and storage conditions of all bakery products.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery, equipment, and storage areas.
Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP / local authority requirements).
Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and reporting of shortages or wastage.
Work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely production and service.
Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements & Skills
Proven experience as a Baker or similar role.
Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and temperature control.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Good time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit to stand for long hours and lift bakery equipment/ingredients.
Education & Certification
Culinary or bakery certification preferred (not mandatory).
Food Safety / Hygiene Certificate is an advantage.
