The Role We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and play a key role in building and maintaining modern web applications. As a Backend Developer at PhazeRo, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop server-side web applications. Collaborating effectively with frontend developers will be key to your role, as you will need to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. As part of your responsibilities, you will need to implement stringent security protocols, data protection measures, and robust storage solutions that ensure our applications are secure and data integrity is maintained. Your expertise in backend technologies, attention to detail, and passion for delivering high-quality code will contribute to the success of our projects. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects spanning industries such as e-commerce, fintech, healthcare, and more, creating engaging and seamless user experiences for our clients. Additionally, while primarily focused on backend development, having some knowledge of frontend (full stack) technologies would be beneficial for collaborating effectively with the frontend development team. This role is remote friendly! Requirements Work closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and designers to develop server-side application logic that will integrate with the user interface. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using web frameworks. Work with databases to design, build and update software databases. This includes maintaining existing databases. Ensure seamless integration with frontend interfaces and other services. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Assist in optimizing web applications for maximum speed and scalability. Stay up-to-date with the latest backend development trends, tools, and best practices. Support in building technical standards that will be used by all backend developers in the company. Lead a small cross-functional team to deliver projects end-to-end. Support the business development function by estimating the work for potential future projects. Technologies we use A variety of languages, including Java, Python, and TypeScript. For backend development, we use Typescript and Python. We are happy to explore other technologies given proper justification is given. For building web applications we prefer Nodejs and Express. For databases, we use MongoDB and PostgreSQL. Slack, GitHub, ZenHub, Confluence. What we require 2-4+ years of experience as a backend developer or Full-stack developer Strong coding skills with demonstrated proficiency in programming languages. Great problem-solving skills with the ability to dive into and navigate existing complex systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. This is very important for us as you will be meeting clients and presenting your work to them often.
