Backend API Integration Engineer

Overview:

We are hiring a Backend API Integration Engineer to connect our digital twin platform with medical APIs, simulation outputs, and third-party health services. You will work on building secure, efficient data pipelines that support real-time health monitoring and simulation inputs.

Key Responsibilities:

Integrate with APIs such as Open mHealth, Infermedica, Apple HealthKit, and FHIR-based systems Develop internal APIs to support frontend and simulation workflows Implement authentication systems (OAuth2, JWT) and secure data flow Normalize and validate data from external medical sources Collaborate with the Data Engineer and Full-Stack Lead

Requirements:

3+ years experience in backend API development and integration Proficient in Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, webhooks Experience with health data APIs, wearable integrations, and EHR systems Familiarity with Docker and Git

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, or other medical data exchange formats Background in healthtech, IoT, or regulated software
