Job Description

Job Purpose:

To perform electrical system diagnostics, repairs, and installations on BAIC vehicles, ensuring all electrical components and systems operate efficiently and safely according to manufacturer standards and company quality guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Diagnosis and Repair

Diagnose electrical faults in vehicles using diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Repair or replace faulty wiring, components, relays, switches, sensors, alternators, batteries, and other electrical parts. Conduct systematic troubleshooting of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, including ECU, ABS, airbag, lighting, infotainment, and A/C systems. Perform preventive electrical maintenance to ensure long-term vehicle reliability.

2. Installation and Configuration

Install and configure new electrical components such as lighting systems, alarms, GPS devices, audio/video systems, and other accessories. Ensure all installations meet BAIC and company safety and quality standards. Calibrate and program electrical systems as required using diagnostic tools and software.

3. Workshop Operations

Record all repairs and services accurately on job cards and update service history in coordination with the Service Advisor. Work closely with mechanics, painters, and other technicians to ensure integrated repair solutions. Maintain tools, diagnostic devices, and workstations in proper condition and report any faults to the Workshop Supervisor. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all electrical works.

4. Quality, Safety, and Compliance

Conduct post-repair testing to verify the performance of electrical systems. Adhere strictly to BAIC manufacturer standards, company quality guidelines, and health and safety procedures. Report potential electrical hazards or recurring technical issues to management for resolution. Ensure compliance with environmental and waste disposal standards when handling batteries and electrical components.

5. Customer and Team Support

Support Service Advisors in explaining electrical issues and repairs to customers when needed. Provide guidance and training support to junior electricians or apprentices. Maintain professional behavior and teamwork in all interactions.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma or Certificate in

Automotive Electrical / Electronic Systems

or equivalent trade qualification. Minimum

3-5 years of experience

as an Automotive Electrician, preferably in a dealership or authorized workshop. Hands-on experience with

diagnostic tools and automotive electrical systems

. Experience with

Chinese brands (MG, Changan, GAC, etc.)

is an advantage. Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred. Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
