is responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support of industrial automation systems across dairy, juice, and UHT processing plants. The role provides technical leadership in PLC, SCADA, and field instrumentation systems, ensuring reliable plant operation, efficient production, and seamless integration with mechanical, electrical, and utility systems. The Automation Engineer supports both new projects and existing operations, driving automation excellence from concept through commissioning and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Design & Implementation
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for dairy and beverage processing systems, including milk reception, pasteurization, homogenization, CIP, packaging lines, and utilities.
Support project teams and OEMs in developing automation design, software architecture, and hardware specifications.
PLC, SCADA & Software Engineering
Configure, program, and maintain PLC and SCADA systems using
, and equivalent platforms.
Develop HMI interfaces, alarms, and control strategies to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
Installation & Commissioning
Lead and oversee automation activities during installation and commissioning of new plants, process lines, and packaging systems.
Perform I/O checks, loop testing, functional testing, and performance validation of automation systems.
Instrumentation & Process Control
Manage field instrumentation including flow, pressure, temperature, level, and analytical instruments.
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and integrate field devices with PLC/SCADA systems to ensure accurate and reliable process control.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve automation and control system issues to minimize production downtime.
Maintain system backups, version control, documentation, and change management records for PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs.
Cross-Functional & Operational Support
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and utility teams to ensure seamless system integration and operational efficiency.
Provide automation support for utility systems such as boilers, chillers, compressors, and RO plants.
Project Coordination & Documentation
Prepare and maintain automation drawings, control narratives, logic diagrams, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and contractors for system upgrades, modifications, and expansions.
