Job Description

An AutoCAD draughtsman with at least 3 years of experience in a low voltage (LV) switchgear company in the UAE is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings for various panels such as DB, SMDB, MDB, and other LV systems. The candidate should be familiar with local regulations and industry standards, and be skilled in all phases of drafting and design for LV products.

Core Duties

Create detailed electrical layout and design drawings for LV switchgear panels, including DB (Distribution Boards), SMDB (Sub Main Distribution Boards), MDB (Main Distribution Boards), MCC (Motor Control Centers), control panels, ATS, PLC, and capacitor bank panels using AutoCAD and related software. Develop single-line diagrams (SLD), general arrangement drawings, internal layout, wiring diagrams, and other required schematics for all types of panels. Update and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, clients, or project managers, ensuring all changes are documented accurately. Prepare as-built drawings, coordination drawings, and shop drawings for installation and construction, in compliance with UAE codes and project specifications. Generate technical documentation, material lists (BOM), specifications, and technical submittals for LV switchgear projects.
Panel Types & Special Requirements

Well-versed in LV panels such as DB, SMDB, MDB, MCC, PLC, ATS, and capacitor bank panels. Experience designing and drafting for Schneider, Siemens, ABB, or similar switchgear components is preferred. Ability to work independently for control panel and LV switchgear drafting, with knowledge of circuit breakers, power distribution, and grounding layouts.
Collaboration & Compliance

Coordinate closely with electrical engineers to integrate electrical systems within building or industrial projects. Ensure compliance with local (DEWA) and international (IEC, NEC, BS) electrical standards. Maintain organized drawing files and proper version control throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualification & Experience

Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in AutoCAD drafting for LV switchgear in the UAE. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D)
