Use computerized diagnostic equipment to analyze and troubleshoot vehicle systems, providing accurate assessments of problems.
Vehicle Repairs & Maintenance:
Perform repairs and replace parts as needed, such as fixing engines, transmissions, brake systems, exhaust systems, and suspension components.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
Ensure that all repairs meet the manufacturer's specifications and adhere to safety standards.
System & Component Testing:
Test vehicle systems to ensure they function correctly after repairs or maintenance.
Perform road tests to assess repairs and ensure vehicles are safe and ready for return to the customer.
Customer Communication:
Communicate directly with service advisors or customers regarding vehicle issues, recommended repairs, and service options.
Provide clear explanations of technical issues and repairs to customers in simple terms.
Maintain records of services performed and report any additional repairs or maintenance needed.
Preventive Maintenance:
Advise customers on regular maintenance schedules and necessary repairs to keep their vehicles in optimal condition.
Inspect vehicles for potential problems before they become major issues.
Tool and Equipment Usage & Maintenance:
Properly use and maintain tools and equipment required for diagnostics, repair, and maintenance tasks.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any malfunctioning tools to the supervisor.

Follow all workshop safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Ensure that work is performed in compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and manufacturer requirements.

Stay up to date with the latest vehicle technologies, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques.
Participate in training programs to improve technical skills and certifications.

Remove dents, creases, and deformations from body panels using hand tools and specialized equipment.
Perform metal shrinking, stretching, and pulling to restore damaged areas.
Replace or repair damaged body panels and structural components when necessary.
Weld, grind, and smooth repaired surfaces to prepare them for painting.
Surface Preparation & Alignment:
Ensure proper alignment of doors, fenders, bumpers, and other body parts.
Use fillers, putty, and sanding techniques to smooth surfaces before painting.
Work with auto painters to ensure a seamless finish after dent repairs.
Equipment Handling & Safety Compliance:
Operate tools such as dent pullers, hammers, dollies, and welding machines.
Follow safety procedures for handling tools, welding, and working with vehicle structures.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Quality Control & Customer Satisfaction:
Inspect completed work to ensure repairs meet workshop and industry standards.
Perform final checks to verify structural integrity and alignment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers about repair status and recommendations.
Education & Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
Expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.
Familiarity with the latest automotive technologies, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Diagnostic Skills:
Ability to interpret diagnostic codes, readings, and technical manuals.
Skilled in using diagnostic tools, such as OBD-II scanners, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
Mechanical & Electrical Systems:
Proficient in working with both mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles.
Understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical troubleshooting.

Education & Experience:

Additional certifications for specific manufacturers (e.g., Honda, Toyota, BMW) can be a plus.
Experience:
Several years of experience (typically 2-5 years) working as an auto technician, with hands-on experience in diagnostics, repair, and vehicle maintenance
Experience in working with various vehicle makes and models is preferred.
Some workshops may require prior experience with specific systems or types of vehicles (e.g., electric vehicles, luxury cars).
